Hi, my name is Sierra Smith! I was born and raised in Greensboro, NC. I attended UNCG for undergraduate schooling and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a minor in sports coaching. I have experience working in the daycare setting and serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant before attending graduate school. After graduating from UNCG, I knew I wanted to further my education to do something more in the healthcare setting.
Occupational Therapy captured my interest after my grandmother experienced a series of strokes and worked with occupational therapists to regain her independence. Experiencing the bonding relationship between the therapists and our family made me want to be able to provide a similar experience to other families as well. I attended graduate school at Pfeiffer University where I graduated with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in December of 2023. Throughout occupational therapy school, I completed a level II fieldwork at UNC Health working with adults and another at Randolph County Schools working with children of all ages. As a new mom, pediatrics has become close to my heart, and I am looking forward to being able to play a part in other children’s therapy journeys!
